Connecting Conference Call Dots...

Our activities related to our Interactive Display solutions resulted in a major step forward during the past few months as customer due diligence work has now led to negotiations for a component purchase agreement that we aim to complete this quarter* for a targeted launch of our Interactive Display module in 2020. 
"...we aim to complete" seems to imply that terms have been agreed to and the ball is in MicroVision's court with the contract sitting on PM's desk waiting for him to sign and reveal at an opportune moment. I believe that he has learned his lesson of prematurely announcing expectations from the delay caused by Tier-1s requesting the switch to Class 1 laser light engines.
"These engagements over the past few quarters continue to reinforce our belief that MicroVision has the potential with our Interactive Display product to sell 1 to 3 million units during the first 12 to 24 months of production.
If 3 million units = $100 million in revenue, then we can estimate our expected revenue to be in the area of $33 per unit.
We believe that this capability expands the potential market for our Interactive Display products to include personal mobile gaming devices. With a larger potential market, we believe that we have increased the opportunity for our Interactive Display product to sell well in excess of 10 million units to multiple customers.
So 10 million additional Interactive Display units sold for mobile gaming should lead to revenues of about $330 million with margins increasing due to economies of scale! 
I believe that the TAM will be much greater, but let us err on the conservative side.

Leveraging our years of Laser Beam Scanning experience and our demonstrated capabilities in LiDAR, the Automotive LiDAR vertical is a natural fit for MicroVision. That said, we needed to develop critical additional capabilities to meet some of the performance requirements in this space. With new IP for these innovations recently filed we believe we have the right solution at the right time. Early in 2019 we engaged several top tier Automotive OEMs and presented an outline of our first product to market. This product would be intended to support up to ADAS Level 3 autonomy.
So MicroVision has been working on this vertical for some time in silence and has filed for patents on new IP, and in early 2019 engaged with several top tier Automotive OEMs. Sounds like NRE opportunities exist along the lines of the April 2017 contract with Microsoft and revenues from this could result. Now which Automotive OEMs were heavily committing to Microsoft HoloLens2? Toyota was one, IIRC.
So we could be looking at MicroVision revenues over $400 million, not counting HoloLens2 and other AR/MR contributions or Display Only or Consumer LiDAR, in the next few years from a public company selling for $0.75 per share currently. 
And now it's all public information if you know how to read between the lines.

Hololens Support DLLs

I'll give my best shot at explaining DLLs. (Dynamic Link Libraries) (I have just enough programming knowledge to be dangerous.)

There's a lot of functionality built into MS Windows. That functionality in terms of software are lists of instructions.

While being used, they're in the working memory of the computer (not on the hard drive). If your computer had to have all of it loaded into memory all the time, your computer's memory would be cluttered with a bunch of stuff it doesn't need. (For example, instructions to print on all the printers you don't have, as well as the one you do.)

So, Microsoft created Dynamic Link Libraries, so only the things that you're actually going to use are stored in memory - helps things run smoothly. If the programmer is good, they'll be put away when the computer is done using them, to keep things running smoothly.

Developers get access to new DLLs before everyone else. They have to be able to develop software and find bugs in the new build of Windows before everyone gets it. When windows updates, they sometimes load new functions into your version of the software.

That background in necessary to understand this: The DLLs to drive Hololens 2 will be in the next build of Microsoft Windows 10.

The developers already have this, (that's how they found it) So, this will be equipping everyone who uses Windows 10 to use Hololens, sometime this spring.

I'm pretty confident that Hololens is going to make a huge splash, and that MVIS is in the display.

WalkingCat posted what he has spotted in HologramCompositor.dlls on his Twitter page. There WalkingCat states: “Now this in HologramCompositor.dll in 19H1: Output: Dummy, Output: Indirect, Output: Hololens and Output: Sydney.” Thus, that DLL contains a reference to Sydney, which is reputedly the codename for the upcoming HoloLens 2.
Microsoft HoloLens 2 is slated for release in April 2019. So that might mean Windows 10 build version 1903 will support HoloLens 2 after Microsoft rolls out the 19H1 update. The Windows 10 19H1 Update will roll out sometime in spring 2019. April is the usual starting month for Microsoft’s springtime build updates.

Hololens -- Larger field of View..... and an excellent description of Microvision Tech

So, if you've been hanging around here for any length of time, this isn't that new. We've seen these patents before. This patent makes my confidence quite high that MicroVision's Tech WILL be part of it. (It isn't yet.)

If you haven't checked out Hololens in person, do it. When you see it you will realize that it is going to significantly impact the world, and will be tremendously popular. Particularly look at what Thysenkrup is doing with it.






The patent is for a “MEMS laser scanner having enlarged FOV”, and describes how a MEMS laser scanner can be used for a near-eye display that increases the FOV. It describes how “using light of different polarizations, the MEMS laser scanner is able to expand the FOV without increasing the range over which the mirror of the scanner oscillates”.
One of the names attached to the patent is Sihui He. As MSPowerUser points out, she is an optical engineer at Microsoft.
While the existence of this patent doesn’t necessarily mean that the next generation of HoloLens will definitely have a wider field of view, we’d be very surprised if Microsoft wasn’t working hard on improving the new HoloLen’s performance in that area.
We’ve recently heard rumors that Microsoft is working on a new HoloLens, codenamed Sydney, which could be released in 2019. These rumors also suggest that the next HoloLens will also be significantly cheaper than the original, which was another major criticism.
