Interesting new Samsung S7 Feature - Display Scaling

If you can make your display much larger then scaling things that are on your display will be very useful.

But on a normal phone screen, further reducing the size of icons won't be particularly helpful.

Just another way the ecosystem is getting more interesting.

Android Authority -- there is more at the source.

Display scaling gives the user greater control over how much information is packed onto the screen, allowing us to make the most of the QHD display resolution. There are two modes, standard or condensed. The latter squishes down icons, controls and text, making them slightly smaller than before so that extra content can fit onto the screen at any one time.

This display scaling feature had originally been spotted by cunning users who had enabled the feature through a third party launcher shortcut. This update now makes display scaling an official Samsung Galaxy S7 feature.

The latest Galaxy S7 update also includes improvements to touch screen recognition and the latest Android security patches, which arrived just a week after hitting Google’s Nexus phones. These prompt updates are a promising sign from Samsung, let’s hope that they continue.
