Lenovo Pocket Projector VS PicoAir

So Lenovo is introducing their "Pocket Projector" at MWC. It's getting a fair amount of attention. (Frankly, MWC has been quite dull -- at least from the outside, there isn't that much going on.)

I haven't seen this device in person yet, but from what I can see it is already obsolete if you compare it with the PicoAir -- brought to you by Celluon with Microvision technology inside.

Of course I'm biased, but I did these comparisons of specifications.

Hey Lenovo Product Engineers... give Microvision a call!!

From the specs:

Brightness:
Celluon PicoAir = 34 laser lumens
Lenovo Pocket Projector = 50 LED lumens
  • We've tested this before. In my own test (sorry, searching for the reference) the 10 lumen ShowWX held its own against a 25 lumen LED/DLP projector.
  • In another recent user comparison, the 34 lumen PicoAir held its own against a 500 lumen LED/DLP projector. (See here)
Resolution:

Celluon PicoAir = 720P (1920x720)
Lenovo Pocket Projector = 480P (854x480)
  • PicoAir has 3x the resolution.
Size:
Celluon PicoAir = 168 Cubic Centimeters
Lenovo Pocket Projector = 260 Cubic Centimeters
  • Celluon is going to fit in your pocket WAY easier. (I don't even know when mine is in my coat pocket.)

Yes, you can put a memory card into the Pocket Projector, they get points for this -- but if you're controlling it from your cellphone anyway, that might not matter a whole lot.
